Research on Acupuncture For IVF

Patients undergoing IVF may receive either acupuncture or whole-systems traditional Chinese medicine (WS-TCM) as an adjuvant IVF treatment. WS-TCM is a complex intervention that can include acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, dietary, lifestyle recommendations.

Research findings of acupuncture and IVF:

Acupuncture increases live birth rate when integrated with IVF/IUI. Research has shown that acupuncture has the ability to regulate blood flow to the ovaries/uterus and lower cortisol (stress hormone) to improve fertility. There are several studies published that show how acupuncture treatments, can improve pregnancy rates by 12 – 50% compared to higher than those who did not receive acupuncture (during IVF/IUI.)
